WELCOME !

Hello Students and Parents,

I am so happy that you took the time to visit my page. To say what an interesting week this has been would be an understatement. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to meet and build relationships with so many of you this academic year. We are now fully engaged in digital learning with our student population given the recent developments with COVID-19. I do realize that for some of our students, digital platforms such as computers and other devices may not be a readily available. I can assure you that our teachers are working very hard to provide you with every available opportunity to support you through this difficult time and for students to be successful. Should you or your student need support, please feel free to reach out to me. I along with our team we will do everything to help your student be successful during this difficult time.

Sincerely,

 Dr. Sean W. Strachan
 Assistant Principal

S.O.A.R ACADEMY COHORT

S.O.A.R ACADEMY COHORT

S.O.A.R Academy Cohort was formulated by Mr. Tracy Guillory Assistant Principal at South Cobb High School during the 2018-2019 academic school year. Mr. Guillory for years saw a need to address the numbers of students who were repeating grades and were seeing the window of opportunity to graduate with their class diminished. Mr. Guillory consulted with Mr. Clint Terza the then principal about how to best serve those students. Around 150 repeating 9th grade students were identified and scheduled into GradPoint remedial classes designed to help students redeem credits. Mrs. Senoria Cain was assigned as counselor to the students. The impact of the initial program has been tremendous. Nearly half of all students assigned to the S.O.A.R initiative were able to catch up with their graduating class and students needing alternative academic routes for graduation received academic counseling and placement in other programs. With the success of the S.O.A.R initiative the 2019-2020 year saw the expansion of the program to 10th, 11th and 12 grade repeating students.
